With the development of economic globalization at present, it is urgent and important for schooling to protect traditional folk culture and art, and to develop the educational resources of local and native culture and art. As one of the first items in intangible cultural heritage, Yicheng Huagu Dance owns an unique artistic charm. It will be of great significance to introduce it into elementary education, which can not only protect and spread the intangible culture but also benefit students'development.By means of folk dance science research methods, the author gives an intuitive analysis of the posture, sums up its posture characteristics, basic rhythm, style and formation, and explores the profound cultural connotation and humanistic spirits. By using dance pedagogy and teaching theories, the author analyzes the great value of Yicheng Huagu Dance cultural resources from the following aspects:its cultural heritage, human physical training and psychological health development. A series of further discursion is made on the development of Yicheng Huagu Dance in the primary curricular, which includes the value, the curricular characteristics, the course content, the implementation, the teaching methods and teaching evaluation.Beginning with the folk dance heritage, this paper is based on the school-based curriculum development theory; and using Yicheng Huagu Dance as the material, it aims to introduce the local folk dance art into schools and analyze its value fully. Through the study on development and implementation of school-based curriculum of Yicheng Huagu Dance, it can provide some theories and operation schemes for primary schools in Yicheng county to develop school-based curriculum.
