Pop art was an important art phenomen in the history of twentieth century, and it is a international movement. It was produced from the United Kingdom in 1950's, but flourished in the U.S.. The U.S. government strongly supported the development of local art forms, in this context, the pop art become a symbol of the victory of American culture, and then pushed the U.S. toward the world's artistic center. Pop Art was a rebuttal of modernist art, the art of abstract expressionism only concerned with ontology and the metaphysical discontent. It was born with a right Dadaism which concerned about the application of the inheritance. Pop art was a popular art, and contraried to the concept of traditional art, in the sense, it completely changed the old traditional way of thinking. Non-art or anti-art was a feature of Pop Art. It attempted to break the boundaries of life and art, and eliminate the art elite attitude, but in fact, pop art was still based on the manner of operation of the elite. It later emerged a new generation of pop art form. Pop Art spreaded and affected Europe, Japan, China and so on. In 1980's, China carried out reform and opening up. Western modernism came into China through various channels, China's ideological liberation movement broke out. As a style, pop art was used by some artists. In 199O's,during the development of the market economy, business was increasingly dense atmosphere. After contemporary art, conducting a series of experiments, the spirit area began to appear a certain weakened state. The Eighties idealism collapsed gradually, grand narrative approach had also been abandoned. There was an "Pope heat" in 199O's,and the Chinese pop art developed in its own context, especially the "political pop" was the most dazzling, it was not only on the "Cultural Revolution" of the reflection, but also all affairs of China as a major political background results. Mid to late nineties, Pope boomed hopeless situation, but Pope's way of thinking continues today and the extension form of pop is still spreading, then there had been some new forms such as Gaudy art form. Chinese Pop Art had a strong international response, so that the interests of the artists had been met. Artists kept a copy of their works, then art had lost its vitality. Pop Art didn't play its pioneering role in the latter, just went to the decline.
