The Soviet-Polish War of 1920 was an important event in the history of the development of the relations between Soviet Russia and Poland. At first, Poland provoked the war, and Soviet Russia launched counter-attack. Then the Red Army were quickly sweeping into the territory of Poland. So Lenin resolved to let the world change ideology and launch the world revolution through Poland. However, the Red Army didn't accomplish the purpose of the war and failed in Warsaw in the end because of the mistake of the strategy made by Soviet Russia and the influence of international factors. Although the war ended in failure of Soviet Russia, its nature and effect could not be overlooked. The failure of the war caused Soviet Russia to make great adjustments in foreign policy. That is to say, the strategy of the world revolution of Lenin was changed to peaceful coexistence with the capitalist countries. At the same time, the western countries also realized the importance of maintaining friendly relation with Soviet Russia. The war produced important and far-reaching effects not only on Soviet Russia, but also on Poland, even on the whole Europe.
