VII derives its name from the number of founding photo-journalists who, in September 2001, formed this collectively owned agency. Together they document conflict-environmental, social and political, both violent and non-violent-to produce an unflinching record of the injustices created and experienced by people caught up in the events they describe.War photography is an important topic of VII Photo Agency. War photographer James Nachtwey, in 1985 when he 36-year-old joined the Magnum photo service, won a wide range of photography prize, but also to create a photographic record of news:an interview with twenty years happened all around the world of war and conflict, are known as "the most courageous, the most important war photographers." Kosovo, Jakarta, Ramallah, East Java, have left his footprints. In order to record the war, James Nachtwey always risk their lives in the most front-line, is around guns and war. Robert Capa said, "If your photographs are not good enough because you are not near enough to the war," James Nachtwey with his own practice to act Capa's famous words.Alexandra Boulat with camera in hands reported the war in the former Yugoslavia, the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the failure of the Taliban in Afghanistan and the war in Iraq in 2003. War photography gives the first impression often is full of flames and smoke, intense fighting scenes. A pioneer in the field Photography-Robert Capa, left a lot of cruel war photography, most notably when taken in the Spanish Civil War shot the photos of fallen soldiers. However, Alexandra Boulat said:"Description of the cruel war, is not necessary to allow people to see the smoke", in her photographic works, we can see the sad woman, displaced refugees, but not in fire-torn battlefield for the content, maybe she is a woman, it is very difficult for her to go to the forefront of fighting in the war as male photographer, maybe she does not have the experiences like many photographers to protect herself, but this did not hinder her as a female photography's role to observe and record the war to her own interest to describe the war in a unique perspective of woman. Lauren Greenfield's work, especially those about her gender identity of youth culture and social record, give the photographer photo a humanistic perspective and depth.VII Photo Agency photographers with a fearless spirit, insist that the shooting war was most intense front-line conflict, insisted that the only way to shoot to the most real picture can move the reader. Cameraman gives full respect for every person to be taken not to allow the lens to a secondary injury, this full display of the photographer the standard of professional ethics.News media of the paper is inclined to decline, VII Photo Agency photographers, they use video and network tools to develop their own photographic works, and VII Photo Agency photographers not only take pictures but also filming a documentary, photographer change their identity to become a director or person in charge of the project. There is a lot of significance that VII photo agency we could learn from. First of all, the photographer's camera is a metaphor of the guns, and it is always a invasion to take photos of people; photographers must respect the wishes of those who were photographed. Secondly, Lauren Greenfield's urban theme photography revealed the hidden crisis in our material which was under the neglect of our morbid modern civilization, it is worth considering.
