The Research Of Ai Wu's Novels

This thesis analyses the deep meanings of Ai Wu's novels from three aspects of nature, human and society, and to explore the artistic value and the significance of the times in Ai Wu's novels from the relationships between human and nature, human and human, human and society. Ai Wu made the description of the natural environment as an important part in his novels. He didn't make the nature as a simple ornament, he set it in an equal important place with story and people. Ai Wu usually depicted the nature in an impersonating way, and made the nature had human's characters. It embodies the author's pursuit to the ecological conceptions such like all things are equal, and man should be harmony with the nature. One of the features of Ai Wu's novels was he recognized the culture of minorities as an important part. Ai Wu's south travel series of novels can be regarded as "national culture novels" in some degree. The author always observed the culture of minorities in appreciated mentality, and he wanted to find the essence and excellent results in the culture of the minorities in order to contrast with the Han culture.Ai Wu paid attention to explore the truth, goodness and beauty from human nature, and depicted the excellent characters of the working people in an ideal way such like goodness, bravery and optimism. From the vivid depiction of the tragedies, the author charged the unreasonable social system which suppressed and destroyed the nice humanity. It made people to think the relationship between human and society, and then called for the improvement of the social system, which also played an important role to cure society.This thesis also discusses Ai Wu's novels after the founding of the PRC. It analyses the author's writing mentality and the reason of the change of style considered with the social background, political culture and people's prevalent attitude. After the founding of the PRC, Ai Wu went to the factories to experience the workers' life, and to collect of materials of his novels. He created a number of works which reflected the upsurge in the large-scale production of workers and peasants. Most of the works of this period were written in accordance with the specific routines, sang the praises of the party's leadership, praised the production enthusiasm of the working people, but they had lost the harmonious ecological value contrasted with the early works.
