Enhancement of effective teaching of general basic courses in secondary vocational school is defined as an important subject to surmount in today's secondary vocational education, and is also a focus by a number of educationists grobally. Effectiveness of teaching serves as the concrete manifestation of teaching quality; nevertheless, currently in China, during the vigorous development of vocational education, many secondary vocational schools make vocational teaching equal vocational skills training, and attach great importance to professional courses instead of general basic courses. In secondary vocational schools, therefore, the indoor teaching of general basic courses (GB.C.) generally become "inefficient" and even "ineffective". Improvement of effectiveness in GB.C. reflects the responsibility of the schools for the students, and furthermore constitutes the goal for all the secondary vocational teachers. The paper, at first, by means of document and comparison methods, tidies, compares, sums up and analyzes the related theories on effective teaching, thus providing the thesis with sufficient researching evidence and theoretical backgroud. Secondly, the survey and interview methods are adopted, in the form of questionnaire and interview, to acknowledge the teching actuality of GB.C. in Fuzhou's secondary vocational schools.In the opinions of the students and the teachers, the main reason for "inefficiency" or "ineffectiveness"is concluded by analysis respectively. Based the above, for the enhancement of teaching effectiveness in general basic courses in secondary vocational school, it is of important theoretical value and practical significance to offer some accordingly proposals with regard to teaching administration of GB.C. as well as teaching philosophy and performance.
