The main goal of vocational education is to cultivate outstanding primary-skilled talents for the society,so the important content of vocational education is to train students to learn solid professional skills.However,the teaching of cultural basic courses is also a link that cannot be ignored in vocational education,because basic cultural literacy is the basis for students to obtain solid professional knowledge and form good professional skills,and is an important factor that determines the future career development prospects of students.However,in reality,it is quite common for secondary vocational education to emphasize the major and underestimate the foundation.Cultural basic courses are marginalized in secondary vocational schools.This study combined with the author's teaching practice and working environment,conducted an in-depth investigation and research on the teaching status of cultural basic courses in Zhengzhou A school,conducted an in-depth analysis of the current problems and causes in the teaching of cultural basic courses,and proposed suitable for Zhengzhou A school The countermeasures to improve the teaching of cultural basic courses.The research methods used in this study include the literature method,questionnaire method,interview method and observation method.Among them,the questionnaire method collected a total of 125 valid questionnaires for two grades and four majors;in the interview method,1 teaching management staff and 8 First-line teachers and teachers of cultural basic courses and 26 students conducted in-depth interviews.In terms of research methods,the use of multiple research methods and mutual cooperation make the research more convincing;in terms of research content,the survey content is more comprehensive,taking into account every factor that appears in the teaching process of cultural basic courses.The survey found that there are four problems in the teaching of cultural basic courses in the school: unclear teaching objectives,year-by-year reduction of cultural class hours,uneven quality of teaching materials,and single and formal teaching evaluation methods.The reasons for these problems include the following four aspects: there is a clear utilitarian tendency in vocational education,themarginalization of cultural courses in vocational schools,the backward education level of cultural courses teachers,and the decline in the quality of students in vocational schools.Based on the above survey and analysis,the following suggestions are proposed for the improvement of the teaching of cultural basic courses in secondary vocational schools: change the educational concept,realize the overall development of professional courses and foundation,realize the change of the employment concept from export to employment guidance;Conditions,promote the reform of teaching materials,increase teaching input;improve the teaching team,change the concept of teacher development,innovate teaching methods;strengthen curriculum reform,enrich the teaching content,and realize the systematic design of cultural foundations.The reform of the basic cultural curriculum is a complex and systematic project.This research is mainly based on the analysis and suggestions made by Zhengzhou A School,and there may be certain limitations.Therefore,the reform of cultural basic courses in different vocational schools also needs to combine their own school conditions and professional characteristics in order to achieve the best results in practice.
