Nowadays the reformation of native language curriculum is most important to many countries all over the world. It is most spectacular between China and the United States of America over the past decade. To understand more of the reformation experience and the core ideals of native language curriculum, I have investigated on comparing the purposes (content standards) of native language curriculum standards in full time compulsory education between China and U.S.A. And I believe that because of the tradition of the history, culture and languages, there is much difference and commonness between Chinese Language Standards in Full Time Compulsory Education (the tested edition) and Standards for the English Language Arts, and the other standards for the English Language Arts of the counties in U.S.A. The reformation of Chinese language teaching and learning must insist on the history culture tradition and the Classic Chinese language teaching and learning, and attach much importance to the latter.
