Research On The Status Quo And Its Development Trend On Penholding Players' Fast Attacking Style

Duringt the 1960s, the emergence of Chinese penholding players'fast attacking style becomes a milestone in the history of World Table Tennis history. Chinese Pingpong players have made scores of glorious achievements with this style ever since. Guoliang Liu, who won the gold medal of 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, now the chief coach of Chinese Table Tennis Team, one of the most successful players, who also creatively used penhold backside smashes, offered a fresh vigor for all the traditional penholding fast attack players. Exemplified by Lin Ma, Hao Wang, the new top players of penholding are spring up in China, which indicates that penholding players are still very active and powerful in the fierce world of competition.This research starts from the analysis of the status quo of penholding fast attack players so that it can foresee some problems for these players and thus aims at its futuredevelopmenttrend. The subjects in this research are mostly nowadays'penholding top players in 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, such as Lin Ma, Hao Wang, during the process of this research, the thesis has adopted following systematic methods:bibliography collection, experts interviews, video-watch, quizzes, data-analysing, assessment at different stages. Through all this seemingly hard yet very rewarding research, the thesis draws the following conclusions:The penholding fast attacking style is the characteristic skill of Chinese players, which is also Chinese traditional skill. Their successful survivals ever since its seeing this world show its existent reason and necessity.In 2008 Beijing Olympics,2009 Osaka World Table Tennis Champions, penholding playes made brilliant achievements:Lin Ma and Hao Wang won the gold medals respectively. But before all these glorious achievements, we should also see many sticky problems remains to be solved if to keep its aggressive power. The problems are collected here: how to resist the loop drive's threat; lack of effective control on loop drive; too close to the table, as well as its difficulties in blocking upward twists.In the future, whether the penholding players, researchers or coaches, they are all expected to emphasize on the following aspects:how to reinforce the creativity of first-three skill, stick to close table fast attack and develop long distance attack ability, how to develop and create penholding backside smashing techniques, to explore on penholding players'backside smash, how to reinforce the ability of crossover steps, to improve the transfer consciousness of offense and defense, in times of Wuji glue, Pen-gripping players should improve the ability of maintenance and offense.
