The university track and field meets, as the main athletic competition among universities, is a window to observe a certain university's physical education and a stage to show themselves for our students. For a long time, it helps popularizing the mass sports activities in the universities, promoting the athletic standard, enriching the campus sports culture as well as selecting some outstanding athletes. Nonetheless, with the vigorous advocacy of education for all-round development, health education, lifetime sports and human-oriented education, the long-last traditional campus sports-meeting has a transplacement with our current aim and requirement of university Physical Education.Through analysis of the current sports-meetings situation of Jiangsu universities and colleges, we found that most university track and field meets become the stage of few students, especially those high qualified athletes, seemingly has nothing to do with the vast majority of students. The competition-centered traditional university track and field meets have a transplacement with all-round education and nationwide fitness program. Thus how to transform the university track and field meets becomes a difficult point of university Physical Education. This paper applies documents and materials, comparative analysis, questionnaires and interviews with several specialists to research the problems and revolution of Jiangsu university track and field meets, so as to promote its development faster and better, and also to offer a theoretical reference for the revolution and development of university track and field meets in Jiangsu and nationwide.
