Coaches play a very important role in both training and competion.The overall competences of coaches are of vital importance to the development of sport.Unfolding comprehensively in 1992,coaching education system in China is,by far,a ystem bases on academic study,focuses on on-the-job traning and with workshops as well as seminars,which contributes a lot to improve coaches' competences and life-long educations.Although it began later than major sport-developed countries, it develop at a high speed and attain great achievements in the past decades.However,it' s far from perfection,we need continue to do our best to make it more perfect.The research,through application to literature review,specialist interview,expert questionaire,mathematical statistics and comparision, manage to analyze and compaire the coaching education systems of Canada, Australia,the United States,Germany,as well as the United Kindom to find out their features,development process and influncing elements, future tendency as well as the invaluable expericenc for us to draw from. The result shows that:Great importance is laid upon their undertakings of coaching education by all of the above-mentioned countries.Almost all the sport-developed countries,started to build their coaching education systems in the 1960s or 1970s,which came to mature and bore fruits in the 1980s.After a long period of time of operation and practice,it' s now undergoing upgrading with transition from knowledge to competence and outcome. All the scientific and efficient coaching education systems share with the following common characteristics:a government-oriented,powerful leading organization,perfect and.rigorous content and classification of standards and levels,flexible delivery strategy,the rigorously enforced assessment and evaluation,a sound training network,clear continous education and registration as well as a guarantee system of funds,personnel,research etc. Coaching systems in sport-developed countries have the following tendency:openness and fairness of participation;a sound organizaitonal system;the amphasis on competence and outcome of coaching;the professionalization of coaches and more concern on women coaches and minority coaches,which is well worth our learning from to build ourself stronger and cuttiing edge.
