As the times progress, computer technology has been used with great scope and depth in our lives. Algorithm, the supportive aspect of computer science, is now becoming more and more important. As a matter of fact, the practical significance of algorithm study can not be ignored. It can not only bring up students ability of methodical thinking and expressing, but develop their ability to solve practical problems, which can be served as a foundation for learning programming. This newly added content embodies mathematical thinking and method in the reform of high school curriculum. So how to utilize the algorithm teaching, explore students learning problems and study teaching technology have become a big practical issue requiring extensive attention and an immediate solution.This research based on the actual circumstances of high school math teaching is carried out in accordance with the goals and requirements of algorithm teaching in the Standard. It uses methods such as literature analysis, theory thoughts and investigation. The author makes a pertinent discussion and study in this research focusing on the problems which deserve noticing in algorithm learning and teaching.This paper expatiates upon the background, necessity and value of algorithm research in high school math teaching as well as study methods, main idea and new thoughts of this research,and then, briefly states the origin, concept, character and representation of algorithm. Besides, this paper introduces the history and recent study of algorithm at home and abroad. The characteristics and value of algorithm teaching senior Maths curriculum are also stated in this part.After that,this paper introduces research methods and subjects, and analyzes the puzzlement in algorithm teaching.Fanally, this paper sorts the main types of algorithm problems, concludes the reasons, and then puts forward strategies for solving problems.The research is based on the existing achievement in this aspect and strives to make a breakthrough. Combined with the real educational condition, the research studies and analyzes puzzlement of algorithm in terms of teachers and students, and puts forward teaching strategies. To promote students'integrated development and general quality, this paper also proposes that the education system should make a corresponding and proper reform, that is, teachers should and can create certain conditions to deepen students'understandings on algorithm in Maths teaching.
