Algorithm is an important part of mathematics and its applications, and it is also the foundation of computer science. With the continuous development of information technology, more and more peoples pay attention to the algorithm, and the algorithm thought has already become mathematics accomplishment which the people should have. As a learning content of the compulsory 3 in high school mathematics, the algorithm requires the students to learn basic knowledge of algorithm and to understand the algorithm thought. After several rounds of teaching practice, the educational value of the algorithm has got more teachers and students’recognition, and the algorithm teaching has also got some valuable experience and certain achievement. On the basis of previous research results and through the investigation and analysis for the status of the algorithm teaching, this thesis presents some of the teaching advices and improvement strategies which for the problem of how to better carry out the high school algorithm teaching activities, thesis through literature, questionnaires, interviews and case analysis carry out studying.Through the questionnaires, interviews and internships in the process of teaching practices, the author found several problems in some school’s algorithm teaching as follows:(1) Some teachers are not enough emphasis on the "algorithm preliminary" teaching; (2) Training of most teachers’ knowledge of algorithm is not in place; (3) Some teachers can’t accurately grasp the key and difficult point in process of the algorithm teaching, and they are short of proper mutual exchange; (4) There are deficient in practical applications of the algorithm in computer and related contents; (5) The contents and methods of the algorithm teaching are rather single; (6) Some teachers have not enough pay attention to the China ancient algorithm contents.In order to improve algorithm teaching effect, this thesis has proposed some of the teaching strategies on knowledge of the algorithm by combining with Bloom’s Taxonomy of Education Objectives and Constructivism education theory. This will help to introduce the practical problems in concept teaching of algorithms and comparative strategy of the positive and negative cases; contribute to inquiry teaching strategies for the basic algorithm structure and diagram design; contribute to the contrasting and illustrating strategy for algorithmic statements teaching; and contribute to the strategy for permeating the algorithm thought, that is, before algorithm teaching, when teaching the concept of algorithm and follow-up teaching.Meanwhile, this thesis has analyzed some classic documentation of algorithm, and made six recommendations for algorithm teaching as follows:(1) Teachers should change their teaching ideas, and enhance comprehend of the algorithm teaching; (2)Teachers should enhance learning knowledge of algorithm, and have an overall understanding for the algorithm; (3)Teachers should pay attention to penetration of algorithm thought; (4) Teachers should pay attention to students’thinking quality training; (5)Teachers should pay attention to application of algorithm cases in teaching process; (6) Teachers should pay attention to integration of algorithm teaching and information technology.We look forward to our teaching strategies and suggestions in this thesis can provide reference for practice algorithm teaching.
