Cities And Towns System Spatial Structure Measure And Optimization Study

Economic Globalization, Information and transportation technology development, the establishment of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area have brought many opportunities for the development of the towns and cities in Guangxi, the urbanization enters the fast propulsion phase, the number of cities grows doubled and redoubled, the city-size expands increasingly, the adjustment of the spatial structure of urban system becomes necessary. In new era, A study is made in this essay on the spatial structure of urban system in Guangxi and Corresponding Optimization suggestion is put forward, which plays an active and important role in Cultivating the reasonable structure of urban system and promoting the sustained dev- elopment of economy in Guangxi.The research on the spatial structure of urban system in Guangxi made by the former academic circles is much in the qualitative des- cription stage, while the research based on quantitative methods is in- adequate. Therefore, based on previous studies, the author makes qua- ntitative study on the spatial structure of urban system in Guangxi by means of mathematical model and GIS software, which is to clarify its current characteristics and identify its existing problems. Based on this, the author proposes the corresponding optimization mentality and imple- mentation countermeasure, hopes can provide the reference for the urban system planning in Guangxi, and makes up the insufficiency of the research on the spatial structure of urban system in Guangxi.The main contest and conclusions are as follows:(1) Outlining the background and significance of paper topics, intr- oducing the present situation of the research on the spatial structure of urban system interior and overseas, and summarizing some theories and the methods of the research on the spatial structure of urban system interior and overseas.(2) Reviewing the historical evolution of the spatial structure of u- rban system in Guangxi, assessing the development conditions of the towns and cities in Guangxi.(3) Measuring the spatial structure of urban system in Guangxi by means of radiation power model, the breaking point model, the fractal model and the gravity model.(4) Clarifying the current characteristics and the existing problems of the spatial structure of urban system in Guangxi.the current character- istics: isolated multi-center structure is remarkable; four big Conurbations has initially shaped; the structure of double core is obvious; the transport links among cities are more convenient; the cites in Guangxi highly concentrated on both sides of rivers and line of communication; the spatial distribution of cities in Guangxi is imbalanced, the difference of urban density is big. the existing problems of the spatial development: the city-size of two core cities is small, city primacy is low; the space linkages among the cities are weak; the city-size of Majority of center cities is small, the radiation scope of cities is small; Small cities are many, the city-size is too small; small towns is in the poor state of the natural development; the spatial distribution of cities in Guangxi is imbalanced.(5) Proposing the reasonable optimization mentality and implement- ation countermeasure of spatial structure of urban system in Guangxi in future. the reasonable optimization mentality: highlighting the"dual-core", enhancing radiation power; relying on big and medium-sized city, form- ing multi-center structure; developing"four Conurbations", optimizing the spatial structure of the four big secondary urban system; strengthening the"two major axis six secondary axis", promoting the formation of spatial structure of reticular urban system. the implementation countermeasure: Strengthening the construction of center cities, enhancing their influence; relying on industries, leading the optimization of spatial structure of urb- an system; adjusting administrative divisions, promoting the comprehen- sive upgrade of urban system; strengthening macro guidance, gradually narrowing the development difference between cities in the east and cities in the west; actively implementing the strategy of coordination develop- ment among cities of different rank.
