A Study On Japan's "industry Hollowiing Out"

In the process of upgrading the industry structure of a country, if the convergence of old and new industries is not good, there will be varying degrees of "industry hollowing out" problem. At present, China is in the critical period of adjustment and promotion of the industry structure, and is faced with currency appreciation, increasing trade friction, the acceleration of regional economic integration, the rapid economic development of neighboring countries, and the adjustment of industry structure, as well as other complex economic environment, which are very similar with the background of Japan's "industry hollowing out" that took place 20 years ago. Moreover, there are some indications that our country is facing an "industry hollowing out" trend. So, from the perspectives of the international industry transfer and industry upgrading, studying Japan's "industry hollowing out" has great significance. It helps to prevent the occurrence of our country's "industry hollowing out" and realize of China's industry structural upgrading, so as to maintain the stable development of China's economy. But in this context, academic researches at home and abroad are not yet many.This thesis uses a combination of theory and practice of analytical methods. First of all, it conducts a tentative theory about the relationship between the "industry hollowing out" with the international industry transfer, and industry upgrading. On this basis, from the new perspectives of the international industry transfer and industry upgrading, the thesis does an in-depth comparison between Japan and the United States of "industry hollowing out" to analyze the root causes of Japan's "industry hollowing out", which put to use a lot of statistical data and charts. Finally, it analyzes the reasons for the trend of China's "industry hollowing out", and put forward the policy recommendations about the prevention of China's "industry hollowing out", which bases the inspirations about Japan's "industry hollowing out" to China's industry upgrading and combine with China's actual situation.The basic content of this thesis is divided into five chapters:The first chapter introduces the topics of the background, purpose and meaning, and describes the research methods, structural arrangements, the expected innovation and deficiencies.The second chapter summarizes the relevant literatures about Japan's "industry hollowing out" and China's "industry hollowing out".The third chapter elaborates several influential international industry transfer theory and the general laws about the evolution of industry structure. On this basis, it analyses the relationship between the "industry hollowing out" with the international industry transfer, and industry upgrading.The fourth chapter describes the formation of Japan's "industry hollowing out", elaborates the backgrounds and the impact on Japan's economy, and analyzes the root causes of Japan's "industry hollowing out"by making a more in-depth comparison with America's "industry hollowing out".The fifth chapter depicts the increasing trend about our country's "industry hollowing out", analyzes the reasons of the trend, and brings forward the policy recommendations about the prevention of China's "industry hollowing out", which bases the inspirations about Japan's " industry hollowing out"of China's industry upgrading and combines with China's actual situation.
