How to envisage the situation of the development of port among the coastal ports of China rationally, and the advantages and disadvantages in the competition, which are the problems urge to be solved for the sustainable development of container ports. This paper firstly introduced the relevant situation of ports' competition at present and the development of China's main costal container ports. On basis of analyzing the factors and evaluation methods of port competition power, the help of the exists study, this paper analyzed the 8 affecting factors of container competition pover from the viewpoint of port's operation and management. Then some important indexes were selected to construct the comprehensive evaluation system of container port competition power. According to this evaluation system, relevant data was collected. The competition power of China's main costal container ports was evaluated with factor analysis by SPSS15.0. Finally, based on the results of the evaluation, the development situation of Tianjin Container Port is analyzed. Some necessary suggestions were applied for improving the competition power of Tianjin Container Port in future.
