Under such condition, the rapid development of numerous small ports around Yantai, such as Rizhao Port, Yingkou Port, Jinzhou Port, Tangshan Port and Weihai Port, also brought tremendous impact on the development of Yantai Port. In the severe competition of international freight market, how to evaluate the competition ability, draw up reasonable and scientific development strategies and enhance the competition ability gradually has become a serious problem for the managers of Yantai Port.With focus on the analysis of the competition ability of port enterprise, this thesis introduces the related theory and the recent research about the competition ability of port. From the angle of the qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, by making use of the traditional competition ability analysis tools, such as Five Forces Model, Boston Matrix, SWOT models, regression analysis and fuzzy synthetic evaluating model on the port competition ability and drawing lessons from the latest domestic and international research about the competition ability of port enterprise, this thesis evaluated the competition ability of Yantai Port systematically.
