American suburbanization phase has come to an end, now the city has entered a stage of metropolitan development mode. In the late eighties and early nineties of the twentieth century, China's suburbanization began to appear, but the main direction is from the outer space to the core district of the city. Therefore, in China's urbanization process, concentration and dispersion coexist. With further development of urbanization, China's overall suburbanization era is coming.In this article, the author would analyze the development of urbanization in China and the U.S., focus on the conditions, results and impacts of the suburbanization, gets experience from the development of American suburbanization and lesson for China's suburbanization. The suburbanization of Xi'an began in the late eighties and early nineties of the 20th century, As the compensation for the use of urban land policy, housing system and other related policies, population and industry from the central area of Xi'an city moved into the suburbs, business was also in the trend to locate in the suburbs. Finance, trade and modern services got the chance to develop in the centre area of the city. Reconstruction of the old city began, unique zones such as high-tech industrial development zones, economic and technological development zones, Qujiang New District appeared in the suburb area of Xi'an. Chanba ecological district is important in the process of suburbanization in Xi'an. This paper will talk about Chanba's positioning and zone development, explore the path of suburbanization in China.
