Mice Tourism Influencing Factors And Effects Analysis

This thesis firstly reviewed and summarized the theories and research results of mice tourism of home and abroad. Basing on the origin and concept of mice tourism, the development course of mice tourism has been discussed from the aspects of theory and practice respectively. The features of mice tourism development has been expounded. Through utilizing the SPSS 16.0 economitric software, this thesis analyzed 2008 data of the sample of 12 cities where mice tourism developed better than other ones in China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Kunming, Xiamen, Dalian, Chengdu, Nanjing, Hangzhou and Qingdao etc. Then impact factors of mice tourism was drawn and analysed. The results showed that the significance of impact factors is in the order as followings:firstly, accessibility of the destination, scale of the services sector, destination image and attractions; secondly, urban functions, trade maturity, previous meeting experience, tourism maturity and the economical development level in the local; thirdly, the government, associations, professional exhibition enterprises and high-quality talents. At last, basing on mice tourists, this thesis conducted the impact factors on tourists as followings: income, health condition, time availability, maximum benefit principle and the appealing degree of destination mice tourism.As for the effects of mice tourism, the thesis analyzed four aspects including economic effects, comprehensive society effects, space radiation effects and negative effects, and made specific discussion by taking Shanghai as an example. Firstly, it can be seen that mice tourism itself is highly profitable industry and can radiate the economic development of surrounding areas. Meanwhile, it has strong impetus function to traffic, catering, entertainment, tourism, employment etc. Thirdly, as for comprehensive society effect, it can improve popularity of the host city, accelerating the construction of urban infrastructure, improving urban environment outlook and citizen quality, inhancing regional and international communication, promoting scientific and technological progress and cultural prosperity. However, there are negative effects of mice tourism, such as causing inflation, traffic congestion and raising crime rate. In conclusion, this thesis discussed the future development of mice tourism, putting forward some countermeasures and suggestions, such as focusing on personnel training, establishing brand consciousness, giving full play to the functions of the government and industry associations etc.
