D Company Casting Supplier Quality Management Research

Supplier quality management is the key part of Supply Chain Management. The product quality from supplier will affect the company competition and long term development. Only focus on internal quality can not find the root cause of quality problem. Company can not improve its whole quality without good quality parts from supplier. Set up a good supplier quality management system to help supplier to improve quality and cut cost will help the company to improve your competition.This dissertation is based on the casting supplier quality management of D company, casting part is the key part of the product of D company, and 90% weight of the final product is casting part, so the casting quality have directly influence on the final product. This dissertation will focus on how to continual improve the casting parts quality and optimize the casting process.The casting supplier quality management of D company includes the following four parts:Supplier Select and Approve; Production Part Approval Process; Continual Improvement and Optimize the process and Supplier Performance Management. The main quality problem is in the stage of Continual Improvement and optimizes the process because of the more and more orders come in and low focus on this stage which lead to the casting quality going down. This dissertation gives the solution on how to deal with this problem; this solution is based on one example, Sin 600 pound body which refers to 6 sigma method and relevant tools, such as Flow Chart, FMEA, MSA, DOE, Control Chart and MAGMA software and so on.
