Fdi Impact On The International Competitiveness Of China's Electronic Information Product Manufacturing Industry

This paper specifically studies the impact of FDI on the international competitiveness of China's electronic information product manufacturing industry. This paper chose RCA as the indicator which evaluated the results of the international competitiveness of China's electronic information product manufacturing industry, proposed the impact path of FDI on China's electronic information product manufacturing industry international competitiveness. That included agent of production, demand conditions, related industries and the competitive conditions.This article collected and calculated the time-series data of eight indicators of China's electronic information product manufacturing from 1998 to 2008, used Eviews5.0 to conduct a regression analysis. The empirical results showed that:domestic R & D investment, industrial concentration, foreign capital investment, domestic demand for electronic information product manufacturing industry, the production of semiconductor silicon, foreign sales/total industry sales volume, these six variables were the significant impact factors of electronic information product manufacturing industry international competitiveness, while domestic and foreign capital-intensive human capital intensity did not pass the test of significance. This paper presented recommendations:in the macro level, to improve the utilization of foreign capital, to improve related industries development of China's electronic information products manufacturing industry, to optimize the development environment of China's electronic information product manufacturing industry; in the enterprise level, to enhance domestic business R & D of China's electronic information product manufacturing industry, to attract business people from FDI flows to domestic enterprises, and to prevent the excessive control of foreign enterprises.
