Logistics Development In Xinjiang From The Perspective Of Xinjiang Economic Circle

Today, economic globalization and regional economic integration have become an irreversible trend. Logistics is the "accelerator" of economic development. Its development level is an important benchmark to measure the degree of modernization and the comprehensive regional strength. "Xinjiang Economic Circle" is a regional economic integration centered of Xinjiang. Its economic development needs of highly efficient logistics to achieve regional economic integration and development. However, the economic circle's poor logistics performence has become one of the main constraints of regional economic development. It is necessary to study Xinjiang's logistics industry from the perspective of Xinjiang Economic Circle in-depth.This paper, firstly, introduces the concepts of "Xinjiang Economic Circle" and logistics, and illustrates the theories of regional economic, logistics economic and industrial economic. Secondly, it analyzes the level of logistics development in Xinjiang and the Xinjiang Economic Circle from the point of the economic developments, the infrastructure, and the logistics market supplies and demands, then compares to the developed economies. It uses the empirical methods to analyze the relations between the logistics development and the economic development in Xinjiang. Chapter IV addresses the problems and the recommendations in developing logistics. In Xinjiang, it should increase the macro-policy supports, construct Urumqi to be an international logistics center and Kuytun, Karamay, Kashi to be large-scale logistics center, strengthen the coordination of relevant departments, enhance the functions of industry associations. In Xingjian economic circle, it should speed up economic integration, establish free trade zone, and develop international logistics industry organizations.This paper has the theoretical innovation to study the development of logistics in Xinjiang from the perspective of "Xinjiang Economic Circle". And it analyzes the effects of the Xinjiang's logistics development to economic development through the empirical study, which is also not researched before.
