Study On Optimization For D Company's Purchasing Management Based On Jit

As the advancement of science and technology and continuously development of economy, the formation of globalization information network and globalization market, and quickly change of demand, competition becomes more and more intense, competition between enterprises has evolved the competition among supply chains and supply chain. SCM has been given more weight especially after global economic crisis in 2008 which cause huge economic environment change.Purchasing has always become a fundamental bridge in SCM. Different purchasing concept and strategies plays an important role in whether a company can get effective response to customers'uncertain demand and changing environment so that enhance the whole competitive advantage of SC.The thesis summarized related theories, including SC & SCM theory, JIT concept, supplier management and analytic hierarchy process etc. Point out what kind of problems that D company has in its purchasing management, and at the same time states that the reasons why need to improve & optimize it. Based on the reality of D company, by using method o f comparison and combine the theory and practice, the thesis provides some suggestion and solutions to those problems, including establish supplier assessment & selection and incentive system, reorganize purchasing organization and functions, implement JIT and VMI purchasing strategies. Those problems such as purchasing management , supplies management, materials quality issue ,material inventory and long lead time and materials shortage issue which D company had in the past has been improved and optimized , it also make D company get a better operational performance . In the last, the thesis summarizes the fruits it has and also bring out that some areas need further study both in practice and theory.Although, case study of this thesis is based on D company, the related theory, improvement and optimization strategies are also meaningful and can be studied for those companies which are seeking how to improve and optimize their supplier and purchasing management.
