In current competitive circumstance of the market, benefit of an enterprise is the key or even solo index to measure whether a company is managed successfully. Because it is more and more difficult to increase profit only through increasing sales, so cost reduction becomes more and more important. For a long time, purchasing management is always a weakness of our company. Now more and more companies are paying attention on improving purchasing management to reduce purchasing cost and increase company profit. Inventory management has a close relationship with purchase. It's also an important part of Supply Chain Management. It plays a key role to reduce the cost of the whole supply chain cost.Large-scale chemical company usually is the core company of a certain supply chain. So to strength the management of purchasing and inventory, and to reduce the whole cost of supply chain is a very important subject for most of the chemical enterprise. The main topic of this dissertation is centralized equipments and spare parts purchasing and inventory management in a large-scale chemical company, which including centralized purchasing in a group company, centralized purchasing in Shanghai Chemical Industrial Park (SCIP) and stock management based on Supply Chain Management theory.The research method of this paper relies on two ways, one is to study advanced SCM theories, and another is through my real working experiences and data analysis. First I will try to analysis the status of technical procurement and inventory in current large-scale chemical companies. Then combined with the characteristic of SCIP and SCM theory I will present some suggestions or methods that can improve centralized purchasing and inventory management. At last I will present my final results that are valuable in real practice.
