Optimization Of Inventory-based Retail Chain Distribution Center Site Selection Study

The logistics distribution system development lags becomes the bottleneck which has restricted the chain retail business of our country, So how to design and reconfigure the distribution system and to improve the efficiency of the distribution. To solve them, the strategy of distribution centers location has to be treated seriously, for this strategy determines the mode and construction of distribution system, and restricts the methods which can be used as well as related cost in distribution operation. Meanwhile, the inventory is the question that each retailer must consider, the increase in stock or accumulating, means enterprise's operation is in a kind of bad state .A large number of stock tie up the limited fund of enterprises, and increase the pressure with the storage of keeping, and influence the realization of enterprise's economic benefits, so, practical and effective inventory control is the task of top priority of a lot of enterprises.On the basis of summarizing the research on distribution and distribution center location, the problem of DCs location for chain enterprise in two cities is considered under stochastic demand and scale economies of transportation in this paper. Corresponding with the characters of chain enterprise's distribution, inventory system is analyzed particularly. Then a new decision model is established to solve the cost optimization problem of DCs location for chain enterprise, in order to afford decision support.This paper includes five parts. Part 1, reviews the literatures on DCs location, and introduce current research in this field at home and abroad and methods to plan to adopt in this paper.
