Construction Bank, The Software Needs Of The Project Management Research

Financial globalization and networking accelerate the international competition among commercial banks. In order to keep pace with international financial markets as well as to increase their competitiveness, Chinese commercial banks need to alter means of services, shift operational mechanisms and adopt advanced technologies.China Construction Bank initiated the development strategy of customer-centered and technology-targeted to fit the demand of international competition, adopting information technologies to build networking service systems. Great outcomes have been achieved since it conducted the development of numerous software projects to meet the demand of networking construction. Yet a scientific and complete system of requirement management has not been created due to the short history of software development and constrains of many subjective and impersonal factors. Problems in terms of coordination, requirement analysis, requirement changing control,etc are necessary to be solved.I have been in charge of the development of software projects for several years in China Construction Bank, and felt that it is of an urgent need for the Bank to research on the requirement management of software projects for promoting the development of the projects.Taking into account the features of software engineering, CMM2 and PMBOK in the phases of requirement, the thesis addresses the research and the application on the requirement management of the Bank's software projects, systematically introducing the basic theories and methods of the management, which should be mastered, through scientific analysis. And also it indicates the fundamental principles of requirement management and delivers suggestions and solutions. The contribution of the thesis is the comprehensive,systematical and scientific management system providing for the requirement management of software projects in China Construction Bank. Surely, it will greatly redound to the enhancement of software project requirement management, acceleration of software project development, reduction of cost, advancement of competition and increase of financial benefit. The innovation sense is the material guidelines indicated for the development, actualization and changing of requirement during the process of software project implement.The thesis includes five chapters. The first chapter introduces the background of the time for readers to understand the creation and history of China Construction Bank, the current features of financial globalization and Banks'network as well as the necessity of conducting the Bank's software development and requirement management of software projects. It also introduces the application outputs of the Bank's networking construction and requirement management.The second chapter's focus is the general introduction of project management (including the basic process of software project management), the importance of requirement management of software projects, general principles of the management, requirement analysis and engineering. It also provides relevant theories about the requirement management of CMM2 and range management of PMBOK.Through some practical cases, the third chapter researches on and analyses the Bank's application of the requirement management, discusses the current situation and problems along with the reasons of these problems in terms of the Bank's requirement management of software projects.The fourth chapter raises suggestions and solutions to the Bank's requirement management, underlines the importance of coordination between customers and project teams, brings forward the concentration on statuses and control of requirement change, clarifies the responsibilities of project managers, creates and improves regulations, etc.The fifth chapter debates relevant issues on enhancing the requirement management of software projects, and discusses the organizational guarantee of the management and the coordination between IT enterprises and HR departments.The Conclusion summarizes the whole, appointing that the research on the requirement management of the Bank's software projects can not only promote the development of these projects, but also improve the requirement management and the Bank's information services, thus increase its competitiveness and benefits in financial markets.
