Strengthening China's Pharmacies Pharmacy Services Strategy

Except for the commercial care of general meaning like smile, enthusiasm, drugstore care has its special aspect—pharmaceutical care. For historical reasons, drugstore plays a relatively complementary role in the whole medication business chain, not to mention the concept of pharmaceutical care at all. With the rapid development of drugstore in recent years, especially the arise of chain drugstores, together with the carrying out of national policies (medicine sorting management, occupational pharmacist system, GSP authentication, GPP senate attestation, etc.) pharmaceutical care has gained more and more attention day by day.This text commences from the concept of pharmaceutical care in drugstores, and studies the present situation of its development domestically and internationally. Learning from foreign experience, combining our own problems existing, it further brings forward the strategies that boost the launch of pharmaceutical care in our country in order to promote further development.First,the author makes an overall outline ,introduces the concept, characteristics, categories and levels of pharmaceutical care and elaborates the necessity for drugstores to carry it out.In the text, author analyzes the status quo of the development of domestic pharmaceutical care and the reasons for its ill developing. Up to now, the pharmaceutical care has been started up generally. However, quite a large portion of drugstores do not attach much importance to it and pharmaceutical care lacks supports. It has no explicit process either. There are many other problems such as the deficiency in occupational pharmacist, the lack of specialty knowledge of the stuffs, etc. All these have resulted that it is just at the beginning stage in development. Many factors are restricting its further progress, for instance, traditional opinions, education problems, economic pressure, system structures, law constrains and whether the leaderships regarding it as important or not and so forth.Author gives an objective description on the backgrounds and states of the development of pharmaceutical care in the USA, France, Australia, etc. respectively. And he draws forward beneficial illuminations on the higher education of pharmacy and on carrying out the care of pharmacy in drugstores.Finally, considering our own existing problems and combining useful abroad experience, author suggests corresponding strategies to the problems to hasten the development of pharmaceutical care. For example, nailing down the contents of pharmaceutical care of drugstores, building up perfect pharmaceutical care criterions, promoting the specialty techniques of pharmacists, enhancing the serving skills of the business attendants, establishing scientific pharmaceutical care process and strengthening the evaluation and control of pharmaceutical care performance.
