With the development of information technology, the enterprises' external environment has changed a lot: it becomes possible that producer and consumer conclude the business directly through the network. The circulation of goods in the international market will be more fluent. The status of foreign trade enterprise is reduced relatively, which has caused the deep change of the institutional framework of foreign trade enterprise. Additionally, the world market is becoming global and and changing more and more quickly; the requirements of the consumers became more and more personal, and the requirements of market for the supply time of the products and the services became higher and higher. The enterprises have to meet it in time in order to survive and develop in the competition. On this situation, the traditional enterprise strategy can not meet the requirements any more. In the same time, because of the intensity of the competition and the shortage of the resources, it's more and more difficult for enterprises to gain the advantages on all the linkages. Under such circumstance, it is greatly important for them to adjust their strategy to the dramatically changeable outer environment. Virtual operation strategy is a selection of strategy for middle and small foreign trade enterprises. The virtual operation strategy is a new one, which ask the enterprises abandon the non-core linkages, concentrate resources on its core competence, and establish the virtual enterprises with other enterprises, consumers and even the opponents. It stressed the importance of agile, flexibility and dynamic.The thesis centers on the virtual operation strategy of middle and small foreign trade enterprises and is divided into four chapters. The first chapter introduces the definition of virtual operation, then analyses the characteristics of virtual operation and the issues that should be noticed by contrasting against the similar conceptions.. The second chapter, shows the definition of middle and small foreign trade enterprises so as to make clear the research object of this thesis, and presents the present conditions of middle and small foreign trade enterprises by SWOT. The third chapter discusses the necessities and possibilities of virtual operation strategy of middle and small foreign trade enterprises. The last chapter brings forward some strategies and suggestions for middle and small foreign trade enterprises to practice the virtual operation strategy successfully, and to realize the rapid and enduring growth of the enterprises.Middle and small foreign trade enterprises played an essential role in our economic. As the policy of reform and opening up is going deeply, and China has entered into WTO, it's a big issue that how to develop well and gain the competitive advantage in this new environment. So it's important to study the middle and small foreign trade enterprises together with the virtual operation strategy.
