The Het Company Procurement Business Process Reengineering Applications And Practice

Entering the new century, the external and internal environments of companies have changed greatly, which in turn changes the competition ways. Today, the competition between companies has converted into the competition between chains. Business Process Re-engineering is one of the new methods which are used to find breakthrough and improve the company performances greatly. This paper aims to take use of BPR method to improve the purchasing process of the HET corp. in order to provide a valuable reference for companies' improvement activities.On the base of the description of the relevant concepts and implementation steps, the BPR is compared with other management improvement methods. Analyze the internal and external changes that the HET corp. is facing, the purchasing processes are described in detail and diagnosis. According toBPR objectives and principles, the new process-oriented organization structure and new purchasing processes are established. It is proposed that developing an independent purchasing service organization, reselecting and evaluating suppliers, partly implementing JIT purchasing and developing an E-based purchasing platform are essential during the BPR project. The analysis and verification shows that BPR is one of the most effective methods for companies to improve performance when facing great changes.
