Power Companies Based On Benchmarking With The Industry Standard

The process of benchmarking are choosing the leading company in one area, comparing one's own product, service or other aspect with those of the leading company, finding the distance and trying to catch up. It was proposed by Xerox and became the most popular management method all over the world. Lots of foreign companies adopt it as a regular management tools and result turns out it does have a good effect in improving the competition power as well as the productivity. This thesis described the process of developing benchmarking system of a electric power company and listed the main principles. The technique frame and application way of this system can also be obtained in this thesis.The thesis analyze the background of the system development as well as the status quo of the benchmarking activities of several organizations both in and abroad the country. The system is designed based on the information of current electric power companies of the country and adopt the J2EE as well as B/S Structure technology for developing. The whole system is divided into six modules including index database managing, index value assessing, benchmarking and declaring, status analysis, best practice and persistent upgrading.In this thesis, there are some introductions of major development technologies used in this system, such as J2EE platform, Struts framework, persistence technology, etc. The application way of each part was specified as well as the design of the system's database. In the end, there came a conclusion based on the system's effect of the electric power company of Hubei province.Result turns out that the usage of the system is quite satisfied and met the most application needs. The system did have a good effect on the optimization of work flow as well as the improvement of enterprise management level.
