International Container Liner Freight Study

According to the common methods of pricing recently, the thesis's aims to advise the container liner shipping companies how to formulate a reasonable price of transportation according to the container liner shipping characteristics,which is under the guidance of cost-oriented demand-oriented, competition-oriented pricing system.For the variable kinds of cargoes ,in spite of there is nothing different among liner companies' service, we can make different standards of pricing according to different goods. The thesis demonstrates that pricing discrimination is reasonable and useful nature in the container shipping market. In addition, because of the" individual demands" of the transportation ,especially for the requirement of speed and time, this thesis proposes a differentiation service pricing thinking, in order to make the liner companies stay in a more favorable position under the fierce competition. Further more ,it can make the liner company to meet the requirements of various characteristics.Finally, based on the above analysis of the pricing system, this thesis presents a comprehensive pricing model. This model identifies the proportion of the mentioned different pricing method through FAHP. Synthesizing the different factors, such as the cost, demand, competition, this thesis provides the theoretical basis for the container liner shipping companies.
