Although the Latin American region's economic development level is not high and several economic crises happened in some countries during the 1980's, it is still hovering in the low-speed growth in the view of economic. The Latin American countries, especially the main countries experiencing modernization process around World War II, have already built up a fairly complete industrial system and the economic strength has been in the forefront of developing countries. Latin America has enormous economic potential and the market potential and will certainly become a major world power in the 21st century intense comprehensive national strength competition, in the face of new opportunities and challenges.China is the biggest developing nation in the world, and in recent years its GDP continues to grow stably that obtains impressive achievement in the economical aspect, among which the development of the foreign economic and trade relations has played an important role.At present, if purely looking from the bilateral volume of trade, any country in the Latin America to our country is a small trade country, and so we are. Moreover China and all the Latin American countries are all developing nations; the economy level of development and the industrial structure are quite close, so temporary trade friction is inevitable because of the conflict of interest. The trade and the investment is not only the main domain of cooperation since our cooperation but also the main field that faces competing pressure from opposite party. But, from the bilateral trade structure, the economies between China and Latin America still have complementarities. The Latin America is our country's great trade nations in the area of some primary products, and it is China's important supply in the means of production and means of subsistence. Over the past 10 years, Latin America has always been one of six big markets of our country trade in increasing scope. It should be said that Sino-Latin America economic and trade relations have been the all-round development and bilateral trade has great potential. The Latin American region will become qualified of China's fourth largest overseas market after the United States, the European Union and East Asia in the next few years , become our most important trading partner, particularly in the resources project cooperation. Developing Sino-Latin American economic and trade relations actively is in line with the interests of both sides and development needs.With China's reform, open policy penetrating and with the opening up of the Latin American market gradually, Sino-Latin economic and trade relations have made great progress, Latin America has become China's important export market. In the 90's, the volume of bilateral trade grew rapidly. Chinese bilateral trade was from the long-term trade deficit to be impartial or a slight surplus over Latin American nations. Sino-Latin's bilateral economical technology cooperation and mutual invests also continue to strengthen.However the economic and trade relations between China and the Latin American nations are not all smooth sailing, they also have some certain difficulties and questions, mainly as displaying by the anti-dumping issue, lacking mutual understanding between two sides' enterprises, and the adverse effects that regional integration in Latin American exports to China, of which anti-dumping issue to be most prominent. But, Sino-Latin trade will have broad prospects. China should take further measure to expand the trade with Latin America.This article is divided into four parts. The first part elaborates that China and the Latin American nations have economical complementarities and it plays the vital role to develop Sino-Latin American economic and trade relations. The second part takes the 90's as a threshold, separately introducing economics and trade development relations before 90's as well as 90's later, and it mainly focuses on reasons and characteristics of their rapid development. The third part emphasizes the influence factors that affect Chinese and the Latin American nations' economics and trade relations, which lay foundations for the further trade development between them. The last part forecasts the future economics and trade relations between China and the Latin American nations and puts forward some development proposals to improve Sino-Latin American economic and trade relations.
