In 21st centure, information technologies are developing so fast that it has deeply influenced on the society and our life—life style, value and method of communication have been changed. And so many companies, such as COSCO, CHINASHIPPING, MASKER etc, have implemented information system to improve their organization and enhance their competitiveness advantages. Computerization level has become one of cretirias which are used for assessimg company maturity.Voliently changing business enviornement has pushed shipping companies to face more and more challenges. Whether actively or passively, shipping companies have or will implement information system to improve speed of their responses to requests from their clients and reduce cost of operation. Therefore, the key question faced by shipping companies is how to efficiently and effectively implement information systemComputerization demands from shipping companies have currently been soaring. But best practices of information system implementation project for shipping companie hasnot matched with one for other industries such as manufacture and finance industries. Methodology and theory to be demaneded can guide shipping companies to implement information system effectively and efficiently and sucessfuly.Due to reasons metioned above, this article studies and analyzes information system planning to explore or find the methology of implementing shipping management system. In the article, VCA has firstly been used to analyze IT role in the company's strategies. Secondly, SAM has been employed for analyzing IT-business capability maturity. Finally, BSP has been used to plan information system of A shipping company. Controlling risk in implementimg system has also been involved in the article.
