High & new technology industry has been the important engine and driving force of developing national economy. Developing knowledge-based and technology-based high & new technology industry has become the fundamental way of enhancing the whole national strength. With the development of knowledge economy, the competition between high & new technology enterprises has gradually evolved into the competition of core competence based on knowledge. Knowledge is the source of enterprises'competitiveness. Enterprises' survival and development mainly depend on the possession, creation and utility of knowledge. Therefore, knowledge management has become the important means for enterprises to gain competitive advantage, while knowledge sharing becomes the most difficult and important aspect in knowledge management.Based on literature review and empirical study, the dissertation discusses the relationship between knowledge sharing motivation and sharing behavior, as well as the relationship between sharing behavior and employee performance. It tests all the hypotheses by the application of statistics analysis. The main conclusions of this dissertation are as follows.1. Personal background factors have different effect on knowledge sharing behavior. Age has significantly negative effect on sharing behavior while gender, education and working years don't have significant effect on sharing behavior.2. Both extrinsic and intrinsic motivations as well as the interaction of extrinsic and intrinsic motivations of knowledge sharing have significantly positive effect on sharing behavior. Those in high & new technology enterprises are typical knowledgeable employees and their behaviors are driven by rational motivations.Sharing ability has buffering effect on the relationship between sharing motivation and sharing behavior. That is, when employees share knowledge, sharing ability will be the constraint or stimulus.The dissertation has six chapters as a whole. Chapter one is instruction which is about research background and the purpose of this paper. Paper structure is also given in the first chapter. Chapter two is literature review. In this section, it reviews the literature about knowledge management and knowledge sharing with the emphasis on the definition, process and motivation of knowledge sharing. Chapter three is empirical study. It illustrates the research model, variable definition, research method and questionnaire used. Also, it tests the reliability and validation of the scale. Chapter four is the research about knowledge sharing diversity discussing the effect of personal background factors on knowledge sharing behavior. Chapter five is the core part of the dissertation. It discusses the relationship between sharing motivation and sharing behavior. Finally, in chapter six, it summarized the conclusion and found some flaws. In addition, some directions for further research are given.
