There has been a substantial rise in M&A transactions in recent years, however, the number of companies who succeeded in and benefited from those transactions are not as exiting as the tremendous amount of money invested. To explain these failures, there could be a number of reasons, among which cultural conflict is one of the most challenging issues.Companies used to focus on integration of strategy and resource during and after M&A period, while culture integration tends to be ignored or not well implemented. To address this problem, this thesis conducts an study on "The Framework of Culture integration for cross-border M&A". Starting with introducing the trends and risks of cross-border M&A practices, this thesis focuses on cultural conflicts with regard to the M&A and organizational culture theory. A culture integration framework is then provided to address conflicts aroused in different phases in an M&A transaction. Finally, the framework is verified by a case study.
