The study on the development of tourist destinations has undergone four stages,which are resource-oriented stage,market-oriented stage,product-oriented stage and image-oriented stage. On the image-oriented stage,people realize that the development of tourism destinations depends on their images,integral vigor and overall attractions.In recent years,with the nation's vigorous promotion towards the rural tourist development, different kinds of rural tourist attractions have got nationwide flourishing development.But the study on tourism image designing,which has great promoting effects upon the development of tourist destinations,has only been restricted in the fields of scenic areas and urban tourism areas. The study on the image designing of rural tourist areas has been neglected.Although the rural tourist areas develop rapidly,it is usually under the shadow of farmhouse enjoyment and lack of competitive power with other leisure tourist resorts.In order to solve the problems mentioned above,this thesis tries to point out a proper image designing system that can adapt to the development of rural tourist attractions.The author firstly does analysis on the distinctiveness of rural tourist attractions from the perspective of their sceneries,their resources,operations,managements,tourist sources and exploiting benefits.The author also makes a contrastive analysis of the diversities between the rural tourist attractions and the ordinary scenic areas.In the thesis,the author points out that in the process of image designing,we should firstly take the basic analysis of the tourist destinations as the foundation of image designing,from the three aspects of endemic analysis,perceptual measuring and potential market analysis.The author then puts forward the integral designing model of rural tourist resorts which includes the image designing of concept,behavior,scenery,atmosphere and tourist lines,and combines the image transmission and generalization together as its organic components.The author also proposes the idea that we should include the image maintenance into the process of image designing.Based on the theoretical analysis,the author does experimental research of Bai Yangyu scenic spot in Qian'an City in Hebei Province.The research grips the theoretical procedure of image designing and has detailed analysis on the planning process.This model can have practical guiding significance to the image designing of other rural tourist attractions.
