With the development of our national economy and the improvement of people's living standard, higher and higher demands are proposed in medical services. Naturally, as one of the most important backbones of medical service, medical device industry has developed rapidly recently. After the entry of WTO, medical device manufacturers at home and abroad seek to pour their investment in all proper areas, which together with the integration of all marketing channels makes the competition among our provincial medical device distributors more and more fierce. Based on related academic theories, this paper tries to probe into the strategic characteristics of modern medical device industry and the internal and external conditions for the founding and initial development of JunKang Medical Devices Company and its potential capability for future development, hence instruct the company to set its development strategy.This paper makes an analysis of the company's positioning and development strategy. Firstly, it introduces the reasearch objectives and significance, status quo of similar research and related theories. Secondly, it lists in detail the typical characteristics of our medical device industry and analyses the dynamic competition tendency among medical device industry. Thirdly, it makes use of the PORT model and SWOT to probe into the opportunity and challenge for JunKang, hence make clear the potential status and capability in the market. Finally, based on the above analysis and research, development strategy is set for JunKang by giving supplement to and comment on its former deveopment strategy.
