Yancheng City Agricultural Development Path Study

With the increasing pace of the urbanization, the need of urban people has been shifted from the needs of food and by-products to both material and spiritual needs. It has been the irresistible trend to develop the urban agriculture. Based on the ready research achievement of the urban agriculture, three points have been mentioned on the Yancheng's development of urban agriculture through the study of the typical cases home and abroad in this area. By the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of developing urban agriculture in Yancheng, the paper discusses that Yancheng's urban agriculture can not be content to the development within the city, but should be open and makes a plan in a larger scale and wider fields. Through a comprehensive analysis of local situations, the ways to develop local urban agriculture have been put out, focusing on building "four bases", constructing "five areas and two districts", making "eight industries" stronger, concentrating on "four tasks" to find a way to the rapid development of urban agriculture with local characteristics.
