Limited Government In The Development Of Tourism Oriented Model

Governmental intervention is necessary owing to the limitations of market-oriented economy. As a result, government's participating in tourism is an inevitable option in the development of China's tourism. Governmental intervention to China's tourism greatly contributes to its development. However, the decentralization of tourist information results in the fact that the government is not able to well master the concerning information and only depending on government can not fully meet the needs of tourism development as well. Besides, the other factor like "government's own interests" should also be taken into consideration, all of these lead to governmental limitations in tourism administration, thus bringing in the phenomenon that no governmental function is placed or the governmental function is misplaced.After a demonstration of advantages and disadvantages of government's participating in tourism, the thesis finds out the only method to solve the problem: to correctly define government's function in tourism development, actively and effectively carrying out governmental functions. The account of the change in governmental functions is developed from these four aspects: scope, property, means and manner. In the meanwhile, developmental mode has also changed as a result of the change in governmental functions. In order to make the grand aim of China's tourism realized that China changes from Asia's big tourist country into world's strong tourist country, people have always focused their attention on what developmental mode should be adopted to develop China's tourism.According to the changes in economy, politics and tourism development, limited government-dominated mode is implemented to stick to three prominent problems in current tourism: help the poor by means of tourism, sustainable development and harmonious development of tourism and its surrounding towns, thus promoting changes in governmental administration in tourism development, which is the necessary requirement and practical option to ensure the rapid and favorable development of China's tourism.
