Cluster Supply Chain Performance Evaluation Study

Supply Chain Management is becoming a hot topic for International Manufacturing, Consulting Industry and Research Institutions in recent years, the theories and methods of Supply Chain Management have developed rapidly which have provided theoretical guidance for enterprises. This is particularly prevalent in abroad large-scale enterprises, it's has brought significant benefits for these large-scale enterprises with the application of these theories and methods of Supply Chain Management. Since the introduction of Supply Chain Management to China, it also has provided some throretical guidance for the domestic enterprises, and to a certain extent, it has brought some economic benefits. However, with entering the new century, as China's sccession to the World Trade Organization, in the context of the global division of labor, the phenomenon that China is becoming a "world manufacturing centre" is more obvious, meanwhile, the transfer of industries are undertaking many links to form clusters. However, the main businesses of the domestic industry cluster are SMEs which strength or funds are restricted; it's very difficult for SMEs to carry on supply chain managemet with early massive input and large-scale inter-regional cooperation, thus, in order to improve the operating effects of the theories and methods of supply chain management in China, we must combine the actual situation of China with the chatacteristics of in the domestic industrial clusters which have gathered many of upstream and downstream relating businesses to build supply chain management which adapt to large-scale enterprises and SMEs, Truly making the domestic SMEs can contend with the foreign large enterprises in the global competition, thus, a new theory of "Cluster Supply Chain" is proposed by Domestic research scholar which is fully comply with he actual situation of China.Cluster supply chain is formed by coupling industry cluster and supply chain. This thesis will analyse the evolution process of the industry cluster and the supply chain based on the basic theory of them, then we will launch the formation of the cluster supply chain by coupling industry cluster and supply chain. Meanwhile, this paper has summarizesd the performance evaluation characteristics and evaluation methods of the single-chain supply chain, based on these, we have established an evaluation metrics for the cluster supply chain, combinating with AHP and contingency theory, this index system will be applied to a garment industry in Guangdong Province.To sum up, the main contents of this thesis as follows:1. Summing up the research of performance evaluation of the supply chain in the domestic and abroad, and then pointing out the difference of the performance evaluation between the traditional supply chain and the recent supply chain.2. Describing the theoretical studies of the industry cluster and the supply chain, and based on these, analyzing how the industry cluster couples with the supply chain to form cluster supply chain.3. Summing up the theory of supply chain, meanwhile, giving the specific characteristics of cluster supply chain in this thesis, and we have established the performance evaluation system based on the cluster supply chain's total benefit.4. Pointing out the concrete utilization of the index system using the contingency theory and this index system will be applied to a garment industry in Guangdong Province by AHP.
