| As an ancient capital of 13 dynasties,Xi'an has unique advantages to develop tourism. It attracts tens of thousands of international tourists to come to visit annually. At the same time,Xi'an is also the international backpackers'favor. But the backpacker topic is mainly concentrated in the foreign scholars,there is only a few domestic researchers who engaged in this area. No study on backpackers in Xi'an is available till now. So this survey is of great significance.Based on the throretical research of backpacker and behavior characteristics,and through the questionnaire and deep interview research method,this article researches the behavior characteristics of international backpackers in Xi'an. Aimed to sum up international backpackers' behavior characterisitcs,behavior characterics under the influence of age,gender,occupation and other factors,and different behavior characteristics between foreign backpackers and other foreign travellers. So that it can provide some scientific basis for our local tourism departments.Several conclusions are gotten after the analysis:1, Demographic characteristics. Foreign backpackers in Xi'an is mainly male; 18-29 years old young people;their job is mainly professional or student;most of their education is beyond university level ;most of them live with partner or live alone;most of their annual income is 1-3 U.S.D.;their nationality is mainly German,England,Holand and French;and most of them came from Europe.2, Track features. Foreign backpackers in Xi'an are mainly inbound from Peking and Shanghai,and then outbound from Hongkong and Tebit;mainly cames from Peking and Shanxi provice,then go to Sichuan provice. The most 10 popular provices in China are Shaanxi,Shanghai,Shanxi,Hongkong,Sichuan,Yunnan,Guangxi,Tebit and Guangdong provice. Most of their track in China is in the shape of "O",and most are anticlockwise.3, Basic behavior characteristics. Signtseeing and knowing the history and culture are regarded to be the main motivation of informant;most of them stay 2 weeks to 2 months in China;cost 1000-2000 U.S.D. in China;almost everyone is the first time to China;most of their way to get tourism information is through guidebooks and internet.4, Behavior characteristics in Xi'an. Their stay in Xi'an is mainly 1-3 days;cost is mainly 100-200 U.S.D.;mainly travel with their friends,family member or alone;the most popular top 5 scenic spot in Xi'an are the museum of terre-cotta warriors and horses,the city wall,bell and drum tower,the great mausque and the big wild goose pogoda;they prefer to walk or take local buses;prefer to live in international youth hostel,and their main reason is because of the price and location of the youth hostel;they prefer Chinese food or the local food;and eager to talk with the local.5, the evaluation characteristics of Xi'an. Most of the international backpackers in Xi'an have a high opinion of scenic spot in Xi'an,transportation in Xi'an,food in Xi'an,and so on.6, Foreign backpackers' behavior characteristics under the influence of gender,age,occupation and other factors.7, The different behavior characteristics between foreign backpackers in Xi'an and common foreign travellers in Xi'an.The innovation of this essay are the following:1, The study place is focused on Xi'an. At present,there are less domestic researches related on backpackers,especially on specific tourist destination. Available research is mainly an summarize of foreign scholars' study. And there are less demonstrate researches. At present,there is no research related on Xi'an international backpacker.2, This essay take the method of questionnaire and deep interview together. Doing the interview while doing the questionnaire,listening to their cognize of Xi'an and their travel experiences in Xi'an,then got some deep information about their behavior characteristics.3, On the objectives of this study,this paper target "Xi'an" and "foreign backpacker",attempt to make the objective concrete and make the research deeper. |
