| Application of business method patents has been boosted both in US and Europe eversince the decision made by CAFC in the State StreetBank case in 1998, which haschanged the prevailing opinion on patentability of business method.Establishing a sample composed of US and EU firms, the current study undertakes anempirical research on the strategic value of business method patents for firms both inUS and EU.Employing hypothesis test, the current study gets a result that fairly support thesignificant strategic value of business method patents for their owners. |
