Scale Development Of Large-scale Industrial Enterprises In Sichuan Constraints

At present, Among the various decisions of the enterprisers', the scale of enterprise is on the number one position on their working list, because the scale's size, or the size in proper or not, are important factors which can influence the running efficiency of itself, even the national economy of the whole society. To many developing countries or regions, big business can save the transaction cost, increase the efficiency and ability of the distribution of resources, enhance the profit margin. Furthermore, big business can also be the icon of the region's economy, can help the other factories got a wonderful profit and accelerate the industrialization. Now, Sichuan has been in the middle process of industrialization, the enterprise above designed size basically centralizing in the heavy industry like energy trade, big machinery manufacturing trade and biochemistry industry trade. In these trades, big business is on the middle status, whose ability of resisting risk is very strong. Big business has made a good effect on the price and competition in its trade, and then makes a big contribution to the full speed developing heavy industry. Meanwhile, light industry trades are short of big business which has enough influence or brand attraction.So, on the one hand, Sichuan get a close attention to its industry, on the other hand, it make a big project, in which it plan to owns 25 big enterprises in the next five years, whose total value of sales is above ten billion RMB. The project's main purpose is to enhance Sichuan's big business's competitive ability, strengthen their influence on the region. But we can see that, the scale of enterprise is affected by many factors, include the living environment, the system of organization, the management level, the condition of technology, the capacity of market, the relation between supply and demand, the state of competition, the structure of trade, etc. Furthermore, the decisions of scale involve the enterprise's scope of management and the capacity of resource in the process of producing. All in all, the questions are: How about the scale of Sichuan's big enterprise now? Which factors are making influence on the scale? If we want optimize the scale, which factors in the influence ones are the closest ones to the scale of enterprises and what tactics should the government and enterprises do?Around these questions, I pay attention to the combination of the theory and the concrete practice. On the base of commentary of the theory on enterprise scale and the factors which may influence the scale, applying a comparing way, I do a deep study on Sichuan's big enterprises developing process and their present situation. After this job, I get a micrographic knowledge on Sichuan's big enterprises, such as their numbers, profits, contribution, distribution, market concentration, the ability of gain, etc. Afterwards, I apply the econometrics'methods and follow the data of Sichuan's listed company in big scale in 2006, to screen the closest influence factors to Sichuan big industrial enterprise. At last, I summarize the restricting factors and proper suggestions to the government and the enterprise on the road of developing large scale of enterprises.
