Dairy industry will be the pillar industry of agriculture in China. Accelerating the development of dairy industrialization can increase farmers' income, improve inhabitants' dietary structure and promote the adjustment of rural industry structure. This study uses the methods including searching information, field survey, typical investigation, informal discussion and comparative analysis. Through analyzing development and questions of SuZhou district, home and abroad, combining industrialization experiences of other districts and introducing the industrialization theory to practice of dairy industry, the thought and strategy were put forward for dairy industry in SuZhou district. In 2006, there were 40,000 cows and 60,000 tons original milk in SuZhou district, and it is the first place of GanSu Province. In SuZhou district, the most large milk bases were built and four milk bands were cultivated. The output value of dairy industry accounts for 18.1 percent of the total value of animal husbandry in SuZhou district. However ,there are some questions, such as unreasonable of cow population structure, lower proportion of improved variety cow, backward of feeding mode, lower yield level, unsoundness of industrialization management system and socialization service and downslide of farmers' and processing enterprises' benefit, etc. So some advices were given to resolve these proboems. The core of dairy industry is industrial management. The purpose is improving quality of cow, yield, feeding level, quality of original milk and competition. The management mode which includes district and farmer, leading enterprise and base and medium organization and farmer should be extended energetically. The three changes should be realized and the four systems should be built.The level of intensive, standardization and industrilization in dairy industry should be improved and the development of dairy industry should be sustainab,healthy and stabe. The three changes are low quality original milk to non-pollution milk, normal temperature milk to pasteurized milk, vicous competition to technological competition. The four systems are breeding, extension of science and technology, industrialization management and socialization service. Through these measures, there are some improvements should be realized in quality of cow, yield, feeding level, competition of leading enterprises and ability of resisting risks of market.
