Study Of The Competitiveness Of The Transnational Operations Of Chinese Construction Enterprises

With the strengthen trend of economic globalization and Chinese deepen open extent, there will be many Chinese enterprises in international markets which will compete with multinational corporations of developed countries. Chinese construction enterprises are in this sort of condition. Having developed after past thirty years, Chinese construction enterprises have greatly promoted and possess some shares, but compared with large MNCs in developed countries, there is a big gap between them. If Chinese construction enterprises want to be the strongest firm, they must reform a lot of aspects including production, organization, culture and human resources. Maintaining their own comparative advantages, they can create new competitive advantage and improve international competition. The dissertation mainly studies how to foster and strengthen competition in transnational operation as to Chinese construction enterprises.After introduction, the dissertation discusses the issues about firm competitiveness from the view of theory in chapter 2. This chapter defines the concept, scope and sources of firm competitiveness and reviews the research about these issues. Chapter 3 accounts the situations of competitiveness of Chinese construction enterprises during the course of transnational operation. It explains the reasons of carrying transnational operation of construction enterprises and status in quo and international competitive environment of their operation. It also carries a compare of competitiveness between Chinese and foreign construction enterprises. Chapter 4 analyzes four factors affecting competitiveness of Chinese construction enterprises including enterprise culture, productive pattern, human resources and technological level. Chapter 5 brings forward some effective suggestions aiming at the problems found in above chapter.Many researches on this issue in the past simply state facts and answers or analyze from the side of theory, but neglect the real things of firms. The dissertation combines theories and empirical analysis and takes the actual problems as orientation. It also discusses the problems during the course of transnational operation and provides relevant measures. This research not only proves those theories about competitiveness, but also is significant to the future development of Chinese construction enterprises.
