The construction industry is one of important cornerstone industries in China's national economy. For the past three decades of reform and opening to the outside world, China's construction industry has experienced rapid development and further improved the development environment. As a result, the quality of projects has been increased steadily and the overall quality of the industry continuously improved. As large-scale construction enterprises abroad have poured in and private construction enterprises are rising, it undoubtedly will bring about unprecedented severe challenges for large state-owned enterprises. The research is first imperative on how to maintain and promote the core-competence of large state-owned construction enterprises and how to implement diversified development strategies on this basisCombined with the author's working experience, using the relative management theories, by reading substantial literature, this paper has referred to the development experience and modes of large-scale construction enterprises home and abroad, designed the diversified development modes and carried out the sustainable development strategies by innovating management systems, optimizing the development environment and so on. That is to say, combined with core competence, the enterprise has carried out the strategic management of diversified development and differentiated service, upgraded the core competiveness of enterprises, enhanced the capability of service and set up the diversified development platform. By means of sustainable development research of Hunan No.6 Engineering Ltd., Co., the paper has provided the ideas and reference of diversified development for domestic state-owned construction enterprises commencing from core competitiveness.
