| With chip technology development and integration improvement, consumer electronics have maintained sustained growth momentum of development. As the world's largest production base, China exports a wide range of consumer electronic products for the global consumers continuously, but serious homogenization, fierce price competition and lower profit margin become the nightmare of the whole industry. With the unexpected arrival of financial storm, living space is more and more bad. IMac, iPod and iPhone, that are products of Apple over the past decade, are not only surprising people, but contribute the high gross margin envying by its competitor. Apart from grasping consumer trend accurately, the key factors for Apple success also include four core competencies. Through mining and analyzing the core competencies of Apple, this paper aims at finding out the process of its formation and perfection, and its crucial role for Apple success. Then, can extract some implications for domestic consumer electronics enterprises. Through studying the successful experience of advanced enterprises, cultivating own core competencies, we could sustain to survive and develop healthily under fierce competition.In this paper, case study is main research method, elaborating the theory of core competencies of enterprise firstly, introducing status of consumer electronics industry and enterprises secondly, analyzing the circumstance surrounding Apple with Six Force Competition-Cooperation Model thirdly, figuring out advantages and disadvantages using SWOT tool lastly. From above analysis, can find differentiation strategy is inevitable choice for Apple. Through submitting and analyzing questions, deduce four Apple's core competencies. Subsequently, discuss the four core competencies in detail one by one. First, analyze its effect and importance as the core competencies in theory. Second, explore the characteristics of Apple's core competencies, as well as the impact to global consumer electronics industry and Apple. Finally, now that Apple rely on the four core competencies can be such a huge success, extract some implications for domestic consumer electronics brand enterprises and small and medium-sized ones respectively.The main innovation in this paper: First, summing up four success factors by analyzing the Apple's characteristics, second, analyzing Apple's success factors from core competencies perspective, third, putting forward implications for consumer electronic brand enterprises and small and medium-sized ones respectively after Apple case study. There are still more shortcomings in this paper. Successful businesses also involve many other areas such as leadership, execution and strategy, etc. Due to space limitations, only explore the impact for business success against the core competencies in this paper. |
