In the hyper competitive environment accompanied by the evidence of information economy, network economy and knowledge economy and the rapid change of market and technology, the business management environment has transformed from comparatively steady environment to a dynamic environment with complex, levity and uncertain since 1980s. How to obtain the key information which influences the further development of enterprise from the inside and outside environment has become the emergency task of enterprise. Through the constant scanning, analyze and forecasting of environment, competitive environmental scanning can reduce the uncertain of environment and help the enterprise to master the environment in order to make the relevant strategy and maintain its competitive advantage. With this the enterprise could keep the victory position. And at the same time, strategic management can help the managers to consider the enterprise's state and plan the enterprise's future from the whole and long-term angle. Strategic management has gradually become an effective tool for enterprise to win or maintain competitive advantage.Competitive environmental scanning and strategic management are related to intelligence science and enterprise's management. Most of abroad scholar or domestic scholar focus on only one research area, competitive environmental scanning or competitive strategic management. A few of them are researching the relationship between competitive environmental scanning and strategic management.This dissertation has researched competitive environmental scanning and strategic management. What's more, the function of competitive environmental scanning in the strategy's set up, controlling and transforming are analyzed. The relationship between competitive environmental scanning and strategic management are revealed.The dissertation is composed of six parts. Firstly research background, research review and research methods are talked about. The second chapter elaborates the basic theory about competitive environment scanning, including the concepts, feather, the foundation and the development of the theory. The third chapter, the fourth chapter and the fifth chapter are the subject parts of dissertation. In the third chapter strategic management is introduced briefly and the relationship between competitive environment scanning and strategic management are discussed , which establishes the foundation for the later chapters.The fourth chapter discusses the realizing process of the strategic management-orientate competitive environment scanning, including conformation of the environment factors related with strategic plans and scanning frequency, the channel to the realizing of scanning, analyzing and forecasting with the help a series of analyzing tools.The fifth chapter discusses how to apply the competitive environment scanning to the activities in strategic management, including analyzing the function of the competitive environment scanning in the process and the transformation of strategic management and illustrating the function with some cases. In the last part the achievements and the disadvantages of this dissertation are summarized.
