"Resident" and "employment" are two core endogenous variables in the urban spatial structure. They are interdependence and mutual influence. From the micro-individual point of view, the most important is that people work and live activities, a reasonable distribution of the staff can not only save time and reduce commuting stress, but also through a certain space for the transition to improve the quality of life; in the macro level, shorter commuting time can alleviate the traffic pressure to reduce environmental pollution, energy is conducive to the creation of emission reduction of low-carbon society.Transformation of the urban economy is driving the Chinese urban spatial structure of a qualitative change occurred in Beijing and other big cities to live grade separation, the quality of residents'life is troubled by the increase of commuting distance and time. This intention is through the Jobs-Housing space balance theory and previous research, designing questionnaire about commuting based on the individual conduct field research, to judge Beijing's Jobs-Housing space balance status, analyze related causes, and make policy recommendations. This study uses empirical research and combination of theoretical analysis, general research and combination of the typical case studies. First of all, through the use of literature review method, the authors summarize, organize concepts of Housing-Jobs space balance, designed four indicators to measure it:commuting time, commuting distance, commuter types, residents satisfaction. In the empirical research stages, through the way of questionnaire, residents of different regions were access to research, collected data from the commuting, housing, personal background, by the results of statistical analysis, draw the conclusions that Beijing City's current Housing-Jobs space imbalance. At the same time, this paper adopts a typical research method, and selected Yizhuang Newtown in Beijing as a case study. By the commuting area of their research, reveals Beijing's industrial layout, function zoning policies and other related concepts, balanced living and employment relations. This paper explores their underlying causes:historical factors (single-center focus trigger the spread of urban spatial disorder), policy factors (housing system reform, urban redevelopment, industrial distribution), market factors (market economic stimulus real estate development of suburban), social factors (the residents' living concept of change). Finally, this paper presents policy recommendations:optimize the urban spatial structure, improving rural industrial policies, to enhance road traffic system construction, attention to low-income earners.
