A Study On The Job-Housing Spatial Structure Of Nanhu Group In Wuhan

Job-housing space is urban’s basic social space. Its reasonable structure not only concerns citizens’daily life, but also influences the balance of the city’s development. In the process of fast urbanization, city has been expanding, population has been concentrating and social space structure has changed a lot in Wuhan. After the housing system reform, citizens choose the residence and employment places more flexibly, so it influences job-housing space deeply. As the living standards improve, spatial imbalance, traffic congestion and other issues occur. Therefore, researching the job-housing space structure and giving suggestions for urban construction can provide the residents a better living and employment space, promote the job-housing balance, and lower commuting costs. In that case, we can conserve resources and protect the environment, which is in line with the spirit of the two types of social and livablethe city.Nanhu group is one of the Wuhan’s fifteen comprehensive group. It’s an important residential space in Hongshan district with a large population and rapid development. It covers49,200square meters area which is north to the Xiongchu street, south to the three loop, east to the Minzu street, west to the Baisha group. Taking the housing construction as an opportunity, real estate market develops well and supporting facilities constantly improve in Nanhu group. It has a huge potential in future. Nanhu group is a typical mature large group in Wuhan and it has a research value.Firstly, this paper introduces the develop process of the theory in foreign countries, then classifies some latest studies in China, and summarizes the literature about spatial structure of the Wuhan City. Secondly, based on the collection of large amounts of data, the paper elaborate the formation and development process of the group, then analyzes the factors that affect group’s development from five aspects, that is:the natural resources, the location transportation, industry support, commercial facilities and planning policies. The main part of the article is the current situation analysis of jobs-housing space in Nanhu group. By taking part in the" job-housing balance research and planning strategy in Wuhan" subject, all the data has been collected from the subject questionnaire. ArcGIS and Excel software are used for data processing and spatial analysis. The basic component of the survey, current situation of living and employment, commuting characteristics and job-housing balance are been studied. It is found that Nanhu Group has a poor job-housing balance, its living space developed well, but has a serious shortage of job sand a poor self-sufficiency. Its commuting situation is slightly worse than the average level of Wuhan City, so that it is a residential-led group. Finally, to solve job-housing imbalance in group, the research attempts to propose the optimization of countermeasures on these three aspects:developing the employment space, coordinating neighboring groups and improving the traffic conditions. There has not been any article that systematically studied the current situation of job-housing space structure in Nanhu group, so that is an innovation.
